The product of a warm and generous vintage, this Pinot Noir possesses enticing aromas of red cherry, complemented by notes of juicy black raspberry and plum. On the palate, layers of spiced cherry fruits coexist with a delicate hint of vanilla and a soft rub of tannin, which culminates in a silky, complex and persistent finish. 2016’s generous growing conditions produced a richly fruited and energised Pinot Noir which is ready to enjoy now.

Reviews

2016 Pinot Noir, Huon Hooke, 92 pts
“Medium red colour with a little purple in the rim. The bouquet is red-fruited and fresh, with a stony mineral overtone. The wine is elegant and finely-structured with lovely refined tannins and delicate yet intense flavour. Red cherry to raspberry. Very stylish pinot.”

2016 Pinot Noir, Halliday Wine Companion, 94 pts
“Hand-picked MV6, D2V5, 115 and 777 clones, 9-27yo, fermented and matured separately, wild yeast open-fermented with 20% whole bunches, 21 days on skins, matured in French oak (20% new) for 11 months. Bright crimson-purple; fragrant and flowery aromas, with a soupcon of spice, are the signposts for a bright, lively and long palate that opens with bright red cherry/berry fruits, then veers towards a more savoury palate with a breezy finish.”

2015 Pinot Noir, Halliday Wine Companion, 95 pts
“Five clones, picked between 14 and 26 Mar, marry elegance and intensity, red berries with a brocade of multi-spices and a lingering, fresh finish.”

2015 Pinot Noir, The Wine Front, 94/95 pts

Gently smoked and spiced, slightly minty perfume, cherry and strawberry, some sweet nougat oak in support. Light to medium bodied, fine boned and cleanly etched with pure minerally acidity, a soft rub of pumice stone tannin, crisp raspberry and blackcurrant flavour, and a long clean finish. It’s beautifully done.”
